Books should be your best friend.

A huff of some sort came through chapped lips as the owner thought back to the old saying that her mother used to tell her as a child. As much as she loved her mother, Marcy couldn't help but despise the saying. Then again, why was she even here at the library?

Because the library was the only place she could escape these days. With all the animals at her home, her brother's taste of loud music, and her father's loving yet demanding need for someone to discuss politics with, Marcy was just about fed up with constant noise. The serene atmosphere of the library welcomed her buzzing ears with welcoming pages.

Mustard yellow flats stood on the tips as a thin, purple covered arm reached up to sift out a rather interesting looking book. "Life Through the Eyes of a Manatee." Her words couldn't help but rise a little at her excitement of finding such a random title. Chewed to the bone fingernails helped open the book, and the waft of dust that invaded her nostrils caused a short sneeze to spurt form the girl, so shaking that it almost knocked off the brown beanier that hid the mess of bed-head hair.
