Logan was trying to fish his keys from his shallow pocket as he turned to walk down his old street where his parents and younger siblings still lived. He’d missed a text from Jason earlier in the day when he was out in the park with Salt and now he couldn’t help but find himself feeling terrible about the entire thing. It wasn’t like Jason texted him that often wanting to just talk. Fumbling with his beaten old cell phone, he managed to send Roy home a text before he’d forgotten, jut letting him know he was visiting with his brother and he may be out late. Sticking the device back into his tight pocket he reached the doorstep, keys in one hand and the silly bridal magazine in the other.
The key turned and unlatched the lock to the front door and Logan stepped inside. Wiping his sandals on the doormat before slipping them off, his barefoot feet with their orange and pink glitter nail polish sunk into the carpeting as he squinted his eyes, still outlined and behind the phony glasses around the house. “Jasoon?” Logan’s voice called, “I just got your text man, sorry it took me a while.” He usually wouldn’t just yell into the house but his keen eye noticed their parent’s vehicles weren’t in the driveway.
Stepping into the living room, the boy yanked up his low cut jeans since they’d been sagging in spite of the belt that matched the safety yellow of the batman design on his t-shirt. Spotting his brother on the couch he smiled, dropping his keys and magazine off on an end table before plopping down in one of the families armchairs, “So man, what’s up? Sorry it took me a while to get here.” He said, rubbing at the back of his neck slightly.
Not the boy I was the boy I am is just venting, venting. Dear gravity, you held me down in this starless city.

Okay. Where to begin. Well, if you didn’t know, the Jason child had a very interesting night prior. He’d wasted a full day on indulging himself in liquor and food alongside his best friend in the world, Mr. Brandon Colvin. Another added note. His best friend, Mr. Track-Jock, was in love with him. Interesting. Well, no. Jason hadn’t really given a second thought to it until the previous day. After completely destroying his stomach, he’d been taken back by his best friend when the other child kissed him. Alright, no biggie. They were both drunk and it was a mistake and- no. It happened again. Alright. So, it wasn’t as if Jason even really knew this about himself, but he could become a rather aggressive drunk. And it wasn’t too long after the second time that Jason started to curse and yell at his friend to get a grip and out of no where, this child actually punched his best friend. Okay okay. You must be thinking, ‘Oh what a big creep.’ Yeah well, it wasn’t as if it was on purpose or intentional in anyway. No, he had just been making really large hand motions, with his fist clenched? Yeah. It really was an accident, and his mind was far too cloudy and his head throbbing for him to even ask the other child for forgiveness. Instead he had just walked out on the boy. Saying he needed to go home. At what, 4 in the morning? While he was drunk and could barely stand on two feet?
That didn’t end well.
He actually ended up being wakened by his father who gently kicked the boy in the leg. His father had been on his way out for work when he’d spotted the youngest Dawl laying face down in their lawn, snoring something fierce. How embarrassing, but his dad hadn’t even bothered to ask what the boy was doing out there. Apparently he was all too accustomed to the strange behavior of his children. How disappointing.
Now, where was he tonight? On his couch. Watching old speed racer cartoons he had gotten for Christmas years ago. He’d texted his brother earlier, needing someone to talk to about the whole situation, but hadn’t even known if the other Dawl would come. Well, until he had stepped in the front door. The sound of the door screeching open caused the younger child to grin wide, as much as he hated to admit it, he lik-loved his brother a lot. It was cheesy and odd for even his own tastes, but hell, it was the truth. “Dude, I totally didn’t think you were going to come.” His voice was rather chipper for the thoughts that lurked in the back of his mind and the massive hangover he had endured earlier that day.
Fresh clothes adorned his clean body. A yellow shirt with santa sunbathing on the front hugged his chest and plain old jeans covered his legs that were folded atop the couch. His hair was down and a mess of tangles. “You're going to laugh at me when I tell you what happened to me last night...”

Logan rolled his eyes, “Like I just wouldn’t show up?” The boy eyed his little brother as if her were insane. Yes, Logan Dawl may tease and poke fun at his little brother at every given opportunity he also adored the hell our of the kid, it wasn’t that he tried to play favorites with his family, it was a simple fact that he and Jason had just kind of grown closer over the past year or so. “You should know me better than that, man, really.” The boy said with a small smile.
The boy shifted in his chair, pulling his knees up in front of his chest as he got settled in, he could just tell by the other boy’s words and body language that he would probably be here for a little while, and honestly he didn’t mind in the least. “Laugh? Well that depends on the scale of just how humiliating it was for you.” He said simply, obviously joking and inwardly hoping it wasn’t some real massive problem that he was teasing Jason about before even knowing the situation about, “I promise I’ll try not to laugh, now tell me.” He said with an easy smile.

Jason scrunched up his nose, "Hey, hell if I know. Maybe you just don't like me so you wouldn't show? Or maybe your phone died," He gave a simple shrug while a grin remained on his lips the entire time. "I didn't hear back from you so I just assumed you were busy, but I'm glad to see you fit me into your big grown up life you have now." The words were laced in playfulness. He began to fidget about, reaching for the bag of cheesy curls he had placed ever so conveniently on the floor besides him. It was a little odd having the other boy back in the house, but boy was it fun.
"It was just really awkward and I acted like an ass." Looking over at his older brother, he could sense that maybe his wording had concerned the other boy. "Don't worry, when I think about it, it really wasn't too big of a deal but I just wanted to talk to someone," his voice began to become all hush-hush as the guilt started to eat at him. "So you know my buddy Brandon right? Smallish kid, brown hair and all." His descriptive words probably did little for Logan's imagination.

Logan shook his head, "No, it didn't die I just didn't feel it go off, I really need a new phone." He started to ramble a bit, "I think I only notice my new messages like half of the time, others not until hours after I got them, its just terrible." The boy's throat was feeling a little dry as he cleared his throat, "But anyways, I was just sitting at the park so if I would've heard it I probably would've been here sooner." He said with a nod before excusing himself for a quick moment to grab a glass of water from the kitchen.
Sitting back down and getting comfortable he listened to his brother as he started his story just a little more than vaguely. "Yea I know who you mean, the uh... skinny track kid right, the one you've been friends with for years?" Logan asked, trying to follow along as best as he could with the details Jason was offering.

"It was fucking awful!" Jason couldn't even stop himself from yelling, thank god their parents weren't home. "I found out like a few weeks that the boy was gay and come on, you know me. I don't really care, so he's gay so he's not. Which ever," He ran a hand through his hair while unintentionally chewing on his bottom lip. "The boy said he was in love with me which is fine okay. It makes things a little awkward, but I don't really care. He knows I have a girlfriend and I wouldn't leave her even if I did feel that way. Which I don't! I fucking love Salt." By this point the boy's voice had bounced from a range of dynamics and pitches. He wanted to express how freaked out he was but didn't want his brother to get the wrong idea that it was because his friend was gay.
"So after he told me this, he started to like avoid my calls and all. And it's not like I can't live without seeing the kid, but he's my fucking best friend and I didn't want him to be angry at me just because I didn't like him. So I went over his house two nights ago and we got really drunk and I passed out. And then we spent the next day eating like pigs and getting drunk all over again!" He paused to take a deep breath, talking a lot was tiring. "And so we're just chilling and what not and the kid fucking kisses me. So I let it go because I'm like half asleep and out of it, but then he does it again. And I don't know what happened but I snapped and I started to yell at him and-," His face took on a look of complete horror, "I punched the kid."

Logan jumped back at his brother's yelling, he wasn't really accustomed to the kid bursting out like that and a frown formed on his lips. He felt bad for Jason, seeing that he was obviously, visibly upset. He grabbed for his water and instead insisted to sit on the opposite side of the couch so maybe Jason wouldn't need to yell? Logan scrunched his lips, nodded his head and watched his brother's expressions while chewing on the inside of his lower lip. He was trying to think of what he could tell his brother, what advice he could give in an area he wasn't sure of.
"Well, maybe you'll have learned earlier than I did that maybe, just maybe drinking is a sport best done in moderation." Logan started out slowly, with a sympathetic smile. He leaned his side against the couch's back as he faced his brother. "And... I'm glad to hear that y'know, Salt is that important to you and you don't want to hurt her." He took a deep breath. "I don't know if you should have hit the kid though, I mean, did you at least say sorry or did he say sorry, I mean its not cool to come on to people when they've gracefully turned you down or when they're involved with other people so he did cross a boundary, but it sounds like you kids were drinking a lot..."

Jason buried his face into his hands, "But it's fun," he whined, peaking up to add, "drinking, not punching your friend in the face." After just telling someone, he felt a whole lot better and could let the mood rise a bit. "I have got to be the worst best friend ever," he groaned, leaning up so that his head now hung back over the back of the couch. "And I really didn't mean to hit him. I was just like waving my arms about and I guess part of it was intentional as far as being an angry drunk was intentional." He didn't even know if he was making any sense now.
"The worst part was that I just left. Because I didn't know what to do and he apologized. Which makes me feel even worse!" With this the little Dawl child threw his arms up into the air. "I mean I bet he wouldn't have the balls to kiss me if he wasn't drunk so the kisses were like equivalent to me punching him. So in a very twisted way, it almost evens itself out." He looked over at his brother and shrugged, wishing the boy had something helpful to offer him in means of fixing his friendship issue he was dealing with. "I mean he had to get drunk to tell me he liked me and then he had to get drunk to kiss me. I think my lesson is to never get drunk with the boy," he muttered the last bit to himself.

Logan's frown didn't lift as he listened to the boy, he felt terrible for not know what to say to make this better for the kid. "It might be fun while it lasts but then either something happens or you get sick or God know what else. So moderation is key." He said having known all too well from his own mistakes just how terrible alcohol could be. "You're not the worst best friend ever, and I'm sure the kid feels just as bad about it as you, I mean you said you wouldn't have hit him if you weren't drunk and it sounds like he wouldn't have kissed you if he hadn't been drunk. So I bet you the kid is probably sitting there feeling just as at fault and just as awful." Logan offered before biting down on his lip.
"I bet he understands you just leaving, I mean how did he expect you to react if you're not gay? It would be like some girl trying to kiss him and kiss him again, it would get frustrating right?" Logan took a deep breath and thought, "Give it a few days, if he doesn't call you then try to call him, but if he doesn't answer don't get all caught up on it, I'm sure he won't be avoiding you really, he'll just be embarrassed." Logan said with a small nod, a faint smile forming with what he could hear of the last of Jason's comment.

Jason just sat there in silence for about five minutes as he listened to his brother's words of advice. He did have more life expierence when it came to drinking and if he said moderation was key than it was probably best to listen to him. And maybe he was right, maybe just taking a few days to chill and calm down would be best for the both of them. The last thing he would want would be for someone to bother him when he was trying to figure something out so Brandon probably felt the same.
"Alright. I guess I"ll just give it awhile," he mumbled, arms crossed as he sinked into the couches back cushion. His eyes began to wander from the different chairs and then to his brother. "Hey, mom and dad went out for some sort of 'parent getaway' thing- more like leave Jason home to starve night- and well," his expression was one of a tired frustrated lonely kid. "Would you consider spending the night here, for old times sake?"

Logan stretched his arms out behind him and tried to smile meekly, he didn't want to be responsible for any of his advise going wrong. He certainly didn't want to have a possible hand in a friendship ending, especially one of his brother's friendships. Logan remembers so man weekends where that kid would be practically living at their house if Jason wasn't living over at his, so it was kind of sad to hear that such a big mess had erupted between the duo. "When you think you figure it out give him a call, I definitely think a few days is best but you know yourself and you know him better than I know either of you, so I think you'll know when it should be cool to call."
"Yea I was wondering where they were." He said aimlessly, after a nod, looking over his shoulders. A smile creeping over his face as he heard his brother's request. "Of course I'll stay, I can't very well let you sit here alone, upset, and starving." Logan said, arching himself at an angle where he could retrieve his phone from his jeans. Already starting to type up a small message to Roy explaining what he could with thumb typing that he'd be needing to stay the night. "I know I still have clothes here so that's not a problem, as for Jason starving... have you eaten yet? I could probably put something on if there's anything in the house." He said with a shrug. Little Logi-Homemaker.

A large smile grew over his face, "Really? You sure? I mean, I know you have like a boytoy at home waiting for you, so if you have to go." Did Jason always ramble on like that? He sounded like an eager child who wasn't sure if it was okay to accept a present or not. "If you don't mind," He could already hear the sound of his stomach getting excited at the mention of food. "I'm sure we have something hear that is easy to put together. Well, easy for a normal person to put together. I can't cook anything worth crap." His expression screwed because the mention of cooking only made him think of Brandon. God he felt like a creep.
He pushed himself up and off of the couch in a hurry, scurrying across the floor to get to the kitchen in only a few seconds.
[gegooc] Hey. It's 3 and like I said earlier, I ended up crashing at 5 last night, and I don't feel like doing it again since I have a busy day. So I'm gonna head out.
